String Orchestra Grades 2 & 3
- String Orchestra - $200 per semester
Classes meet once per week for one hour.
Weekly classes and one performance per semester.
An assessment of each applicant is required before an appropriate orchestral placement can be determined.
- Eligibility:
- Participants must be studying with a private teacher
- A letter of recommendation from the private teacher
- A playing level equivalent to Suzuki Book 2 or higher
- A minimum of six months playing experience
- All students in public school, private school, charter school, and home school are eligible
- Class Dates and Times: Tuesdays, 4:00pm - 5:00pm. Location: Bachus Conservatory, 12233 RR 620 N #305, Austin, TX 78750
- Calendar: Rehearsal and Performance Calendar.
Auditions
- What you will need for your audition:
- One piece of your choice that demonstrates your best playing abilities:
- If the piece is written with piano accompaniment, you may provide your own accompanist. If you do not have an accompanist, we might be able to provide an accompanist. Please contact us for more information if you need an accompanist.
- Suzuki Book 2 is only a reference to a playing level. Any piece equivalent to this level is acceptable.
- Memorization is not required.
- A music stand and chair are provided, but double bass players should bring their own stool.

- Bachus Conservatory is currently holding open auditions for the Spring 2015 semester.
