Bachus Summer Fun Music Camps

Kids tell us they want to have fun and do interesting things in summer camps. They like learning how to do new things and to do something creative.

Bachus Music Camps provide students with the opportunity to develop music skills in a fun, safe environment. Week-long camps provide daily practicing which helps to encourage a practice routine. Students will tap into their creativity with a multi-dimensional approach. Through composing, students will increase their understanding of music notation and strengthen their sight-reading abilities. They will learn patience, how to self-critique in a positive way, problem-solve, and work toward a personal goal.

Campers will begin learning how to write music, which strengthens sight-reading skills and theory knowledge! Composing instills self-confidence and increases knowledge of symbols used, key signatures, rhythm, and note values. They will write music on staff paper using a piano and then enter their compositions on computer or iPad! Campers will use basic skills and learn how to connect them to the higher-level skills. Specialized activities intensifies and expands music skills. Experienced musician-campers may enjoy playing in an ensemble or learning to play other instruments! There will be lots of fun with exciting Music Games and of course Campers will make new music friends!

• Exercises to build sight-reading and playing skills
• Introduction to other instruments
• Having fun with rhythm
• Using computer software to print music compositions that really looks professional.
• Using digital pianos to record their compositions.
• Music Games to enhance music knowledge
• Breaks: snack time, outside time or free time.

• Camp Size: 5-10 kids, ages 7-13, all levels
• 1/2 day Camp Tuition: $230/camp week, Sibling Discount: $20/camp week
• Parents can choose one camp week or several camp weeks. Kids will not repeat projects in multiple camps...they can try new projects or continue and expand the ones they like.

• Drop off time: 12:00-1:00pm (earlier with prior arrangement)
• Pick up time: 4:00-5:00pm (later with prior arrangement)
• Parents may be able to move their child to a different camp if necessary and if there is an available place.
• Parents are responsible for providing Snacks. Water will be provided.
• There are no refunds for missed camp days because a place was being held for your child.
• Two or more adults will be on site at all times.
• Parents are always welcome!
